Croatia needs Serbs, and Serbs elect their representatives on a pink ballot

"When you go to the polls on April 17, ask for a pink ticket and circle the numbers 2, 4 and 5 on the list of the Serbian national minority because Croatia needs Serbs!", they say in the pre-election campaign from the Independent Democratic Party of Serbia In the upcoming parliamentary elections in Croatia, which will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the Independent Democratic Serbian Party is running with candidates Milorad Pupovec , Anja Šimprag and Dragana Jeckov . At the session of the SDSS General Assembly, held on March 26 in Vukovar, the candidates' deputies were also presented, so the deputy of Dragana Jeckov in this year's parliamentary elections is the mayor of Erdut municipality Jugoslav Vesić , the deputy of Anja Šimpraga is MP Boris Milošević and the deputy of Milorad Pupovac is Deputy Prefect of Karlovac County Dejan Mihajlović . In the pre-election program of the party, it is stated that in the previous years of participation in the government, significant steps were taken in solving the problems of the Serbian community, but also that they are not satisfied with the status and position of Serbs in Croatia, especially in the context of the development of rural areas where the largest number of Serb returnees live. The SDSS stated that in the coming period, they will especially devote themselves to further progress in development policy, strengthening the visibility and position of the Serbian community and institutions, but also building a society of freedom in which members of minorities will also feel comfortable. "In the first place is the question of the development of the areas where members of the Serbian community live, which are among the most underdeveloped in the Republic of Croatia. If we were to work for two or three more terms, it would not be enough to make these areas worthy of life and to make other people start coming there and living with members of the Serbian people in these areas, whether it is Kordun, Bania, Lika, North Dalmatia, Baranja or any part of the Republic of Croatia. Then we will do everything to strengthen our institutions in order to realize the programs that are necessary for the members of the Serbian national community in the sphere of culture, education, media and the like. We also want our institutions to have complete stability, which, unfortunately, they do not have now and the status they should have in accordance with the documents on the basis of which they were founded", said Pupovac. "When you go to the polls on April 17, ask for a pink ticket and circle the numbers 2, 4 and 5 on the list of the Serbian national minority because Croatia needs Serbs!", they say in the pre-election campaign from the Independent Democratic Serbian Party.
